Aster + Bay Cleansing Oil

by: Aster + Bay

  • The most natural and luxurious way to cleanse your face, this Cleansing Oil is a blend of softening and toning oils that penetrate the pores deeply to dissolve dirt, makeup and toxin buildup. For all skin types.

Top reasons to cleanse your face with oil (yes, even for oily skin!):

Traditional face washes contain harsh surfactants, detergents and chemicals that strip your skin of it's natural oils, leaving you with a "tight" feeling. This in turn leads to your skin producing even more oil to compensate for moisture it's lost, which often leaves you with oily skin, thus establishing an unfortunate cycle.

Simply put, oil dissolves oil. The best way to dissolve the bad oil (the sebum that hardens in your pores, along with dirt and toxins) is to dissolve and replace it with nutrient-rich plant oils. Plant, nut and seed oils cleanse, detoxify and moisturise the pores and skin surface.

Oil cleansers do not require any preservatives or chemicals, making it a safe method for even the most sensitive skin.

Made with 100% cold-pressed plant and essential oils.

To use: Massage a quarter-sized amount of oil into the skin. Hold a (comfortably) hot washcloth over face for fifteen seconds or longer. Rinse cloth with hot water again and slowly wipe off oil with the cloth, rinsing it as needed. Repeat until all the oil is gone and skin feels soft. Pat dry with a clean towel and follow with facial serum.

  • Aster + Bay was founded by Erin Hammond in 2012 as an outlet to create self-care products while she studied western herbalism. Prior to that, Erin received her graduate degree in Architectural Conservation from the University of Edinburgh. It was during her study of architectural history in Scotland that she developed a love for traditional craft and the preservation of craft methods. Turning to a slightly different medium once back in the States, she began to investigate and study botany, plant folklore and herbal alchemy. Created in Erin’s Atlanta studio, we love that every aspect of the collection is made in house from formulating to designing products. Beauty with background. Sign us up.
