West/Feren designer Alison Pawling has put her personal stamp on the accessories’ world with a defiant mix of bold color and tailored military detailing that draws on her experience in some of menswears’ most notable fashion houses. Named after her grandmothers (West and Feren) who often brought Alison on travels abroad where she came to appreciate that potent inspiration was best found off the beaten path.
Released in the Fall of 2008 West/Feren’s signature bags have already garnered attention from a who’s who of fashion magazines, blogs and influential boutiques which have unanimously recognized this designer’s unique but ultimately wearable vision. To complement her considered and decidedly artistic design process Alison handpicks and imports only the highest quality leather and fabric from all over the world and insists that her bags are handcrafted in New York City. In an era of mass production West/Feren’s meticulous designs, luxury materials, and quality craftsmanship are not as much a nod to the past as they are a statement on what the future should look like.
