Beth Blake and Melissa Akey are known for creating stylish looks for bridesmaids with their collection, Thread, but with the debut of Thread Social, this ready to wear line is a guarantee to steal the spotlight at any event. Designed with civilian cocktail frocks in mind, Thread Social is geared towards the New York girl on the go, who needs a look that will take her from day to night, no matter what the occasion.
Upon graduating from Simmon's College in Boston, Massachusetts with a BA in Communications and Graphic Design, Beth Blake worked as a public relations coordinator for Chanel, then moved on to becoming a fashion editor at Vogue, before starting the bridesmaid line, Thread.
Melissa first interned at Barneys New York in design and advertising after graduating from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with BAs in Graphic Design and Photography.
Launched in the Spring of 2006, the initial Thread Social collection demonstrated an expert knowledge of fit, derived from the bridal background, which ensured ease and movement with a hint of sex appeal.
